It is a liberal hippie brand along with Dicks, but it hasn’t fully set in.

You are 100% right about RTIC, but I can’t square the YETI thing. I mean, it was a discount...preferential treatment...and they didn’t even discontinue it they just stopped a legacy discount program and started a new one, one that the NRA was invited to apply for.
I’m a gun owner, I used to get shells in my Christmas stocking as a kid, I even reload my own bullets...but the snap judgement, violent, frankly stupid social warrior justice response to what amounts to bad communication on a moderate discount program for coolers typifies the hurtful nature of fringe groups like the NRA that exist as a hard counter to fringe groups diametric to theirs. This “us” vs “them” crap doesn’t solve problems, it only really results in hot tempers and shouting matches. Not that im saying you are part of that and you certainly have every right to not support any company you want...though I think the truth of the situation leaves any political message nebulous at best.
Buy YETI? Don’t Buy Yeti. Who cares. Unless the company is actively pursuing an agenda that’s harmful just let products be products.

I think it’s just a sharp reaction to where people think their priorities are. Did they lose some business? Yes. Are their products overpriced? Yes. I was being a little sarcastic up there calling them a liberal hippie brand, I’m guessing a good chunk of their consumers are pro 2A conservative people.
I only own Yeti tumblers, I won’t shoot them or blow them up because they still work fine. I’m glad I bought an RTIC cooler over a Yeti cooler, but even if I had a Yeti cooler I would keep it.

My only concern here is that something like this (that didn’t even turn out to be a political statement) REALLY shouldn’t have happened AND been fueled by the organization that wants to represent sensible gun owners. It’s an embarrassment to all gun owners when this stuff happens.

I actually got an email from the NRA telling us specifically not to not blow up, drag behind truck by chain, or shoot Yeti coolers.
Either way, I’m probably not renewing my membership next year to be honest.

like i said, guns are LITERALLY part of my family (My relation is the “ M ” part), but I don’t feel the NRA represents sensible gun owners anymore and I think it’s doing them a disservice.

I’m getting there myself. I am a strong 2A supporter as being an NRA member usually entails, but they’re straying away from sensibility recently.
Like, it took me five minutes to pick my AR15 up from the store because I bought a gun 6 months ago and I was already confirmed through the state. That shouldn’t be happening and the NRA sure as hell won’t do anything about it.
If anything, that’s just giving guns and the NRA a bad name as far as inaction goes.
